Happy First Day of Spring from the City of Roses.
And, yes, the butterfly is purposeful. I felt it this time.
Date: March 20, 2016
Days Spent on Project: 1124
Location: NW Portland, OR
Person I would have sent it to: TBD
Music I listened to while sewing: Taylor Swift is still giving me Life this weekend.
Thoughts/Feelings behind the block: In the way that Life happens, after spending the morning giving my apartment the Silkwood shower that I wanted, I went to the gym. I ran for an hour. I had an asthma attack and felt sick halfway into the run, but ran through it. Came home and passed out for an hour on my balcony. Woke up at 6, and remembered that I was supposed to take a friend to see the current play we have going on at the theater.
Left the apartment with the dog for his early evening walk. We made it around the corner when my phone rang.
A designer I know from New York started speaking when I answered it.
She was recommending me for a job as a Shop Manager at a Costume Shop at a Theater Festival back east. Their current shop manager backed out/declined the offer, and the theater was desperate. It would be June and July. It would be a crazy schedule with 8 shows happening all at once, but working with Big Name Designers.
She said this is a job that would potentially throw my career back into the east coast network, if I wanted to ever return.
Walked the dog home. Went to meet my friend at the theater, we ended up not making the show in time, so we went to a bar in the neighborhood and talked for several hours.
If the butterflies weren’t there in the past, they’re certainly there now?
It’s so weird how Life can seemingly take you down an unwanted road, by your own doing, and then not even 24 hours make you reconsider what you’re doing and where you’re going and make you think people are on your side and that there *might* be something here instead of there… all the while dealing with pesky details and repercussions.
I should choose to chase the butterflies, I think, while making sure I don’t get tripped up in any net that I’m carrying around…
