Feeling very sick tonight. I’ve been sick more in Portland than I was in the years I lived in New York, I think.
Date: March 9, 2015
Days Spent on Project: 748
Location: NW Portland, OR
Person I would have sent it to: Today I will dedicate this Crane to the other assistant that was brought on board for that production of A Chorus Line at Paper Mill. His name was Thomas L.
I feel like that show– that production– was suck a large learning experience with a very steep learning curve. One curve that I didn’t survive. One lesson that came to late.
For a variety of reasons, I learned a lot from Thomas. My belief that you shouldn’t trust other freelancers– even when you’re hired to work on the same production– was reaffirmed.
Ultimately, it would be nice of me to say that I blame myself for things that happened with ACL. But, to be honest, I don’t. There’s no one to blame. Toes were stepped on; I didn’t do the stepping, and I guess I just didn’t dance fast enough for these people. I haven’t seen these people since.
Music I listened to while sewing: I’m listening to the sound of my portable heater and my dog snoring right now.
Thoughts/Feelings behind the block: Sick. I’m in bed. I’ve had six crackers today and a glass of orange juice.
Tomorrow is, of course, a big day. (When aren’t they here?) This sickness- whatever it is- needs to be gone by 9am.
