Block 620: March 3, 2015

IMG_0259_2

Falling asleep on the job today.

Date: March 3, 2015

Crane: 620

Days Spent on Project: 742

Location: NW Portland, OR

Person I would have sent it to: Thinking back to my time with Paper Mill and their production of White Christmas, I’d also want to dedicate a Crane to Matthew K. Matthew was in the men’s ensemble, and he had performed the show previously on tour, I believe.

When I moved to Washington Heights in the Fall of 2012, I had brunch with my friend Wilson one Saturday morning, who promised to show me around the area and what to expect when looking at different apartment buildings in the neighborhood. Turns out, Wilson lived directly above Matthew in the same building. New York is smaller than you think!

Unfortunately, Matthew suffered some sort of foot/ankle injury during the run of the show and had to sit out of a few of the performances. Eventually, and he documented this on Facebook, he had to have surgery to correct the problem. He’s now touring with one of the international tours of Chicago.

Music I listened to while sewing: I had some good ole Beyonce on again, because why not be in a rut this week.

Thoughts/Feelings behind the block: Things are under control and quiet here today.

I really want to go home and watch TV in bed.

That’s all.

  1. I just found your blog. Interesting quilt block. What are you going to do with a thousand of them? I’ll have to look back on your older posts and see if I can find out something about them.
