Here’s to another week that’s about to start.
May we all be able to tackle it with grace, poise, and humor.
Days Spent on Project: 225
Location: Apartment, Washington Heights, NYC
Person I would have sent it to: Stephen S.
Stephen was a former student at NHSI when he came to NHSI to be a faculty associate in… what year was that? I can’t remember. He was (and I guess still is) the younger brother of Laura S, whom I dedicated a Crane to previously. They’re, in a way, a theater dynasty. Laura is a playwright. Stephen is a musical theater performer. Their other sister has also acted; I think her big claim to fame, at that point, was having a noticeable part in the movie What’s Eating Gilbert Grape?
Stephen was a lot of fun as a faculty associate. We had some good times together, I have to say.
Music I listened to while sewing: I’ve had the YouTube video for Alexander McQueen’s 2000 Autumn/Winter collection playing on repeat all morning. The collection is called “Eshu.”
As usual, it’s more than a little breathtaking.
Why hasn’t someone made a collection of this music? Or have they and I just haven’t found it? I’d buy that in a heartbeat and listen to it all the freaking time…
Thoughts/Feelings behind the block: Let’s get stuff done today, shall we?
I’ve decided I’m going to lug my gym clothes with me today. I will stop by the gym- if only for a 30 minute workout- before I start my day of pulling costumes at one theater company. I think my recent malaise may partly derive from not going more than once every two weeks for the past month or so.
It won’t be possible to go on Wednesday or Friday as I’m out of town for work, so I have to make these days count!
Plus I feel very mid-30s today. I’m so not 21 anymore.
Okay, here we go! Time to run! Or something!
