Block 32: March 21, 2013

athousandquiltedcranes32

Good evening!

Thoughts on a name? A friend already called it “Safari Crane,” so that entry has already been taken…

Date: March 21, 2013

Location: Apartment, Washington Heights, NYC

Person I would have sent it to: Just because I got a random email from Linked In (of all things) suggesting that I might know him. Fred, of Brooklyn fame, I do know you and I’m intrigued that Linked In (who uses that really?) thinks we might be a connection.

I apologize, as I have before. I honestly feel I wasn’t ready for you when I first met you; I’m not sure I’m any more ready for you now. I will admit that I was probably the @$$hole in the situation, and I never meant to be.

But, you’re the one who got me quilting again last year.

Life is complicated, isn’t it?

Hm.

Both of us are complicated, truthfully.

But I do think you’re pretty great.

Friends?

Music I listened to while sewing: More Motown, which means Diana Ross and the Supremes today.

Thoughts/Feelings behind the block: Ladies and Gentlemen, just a reminder to hug someone today. Be nice. Say “hello” instead of just a nod.

Just a reminder that it isn’t always obvious when people need some human connection or interaction. We all do. We don’t always get enough of it.

Don’t give up. Keep going.

Be kind to yourself. Don’t knock yourself down.

Accept who you are. Accept that what you are and what you can do and what you bring to the world is incredibly important and is a part of something bigger. Whatever that bigger is.

As much as we can feel it: we aren’t alone. Or, strike that: we don’t have to be alone.

Take it one day at a time, everyone.

Cheers.
